Palmer Package

The Palmer Package is a group of four different techniques that all require the use of our hands: Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson, and Flexion-Distraction. Each technique is different and will be used depending on the patient’s comfort, and how the patient responds throughout the course of treatment. Here at Harcha Family Chiropractic, high-velocity low-amplitude thrusts are used to correct subluxations throughout the spine.

Activator Method

Activator is an instrument assisted form of adjusting. This style is not like the typical one where you are lying on your side, or on your back. With this technique, you simply stay laying on your stomach, and a “dance” is perfomed - this is a series of movements that the patient performs which indicates where a correction is needed. The instrument has a small, soft-pointed tip and the force it generates is light, making the adjustment comfortable and highly specific.

Craniosacral Technique

By using light pressure - lighter than the weight of a nickel - tension in the soft tissues of the skull and down the spine are released. These services are beneficial for adults who struggle with: headaches, stress and anxiety, chronic pain and TMJ issues; these services are also beneficial for infants who struggle with: colic, influx, plagiocephaly (misshapen / flat head), and more. Receiving this technique often puts the patient in a state of relaxation.

Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is defined as a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment style that reduces nervous system stress, balances pelvic bones, muscles and ligaments, and optimizes the mother’s pelvic function throughout pregnancy and birth. Pregnancy pillows are utilized to ensure comfort throughout the appointment.

Electrostimulation Therapy

This therapy is useful for those who are suffering from chronic pain and muscle spasms. By using two or four sticky pads, mild electrical pulses are sent through the skin. These pulses either block pain messages that are traveling to the brain, or they mimic signals to make your muscles flex, which in turn will increase blood flow and promote healing. These pulses give a tingling sensation and are not at all painful.

Ultrasound Therapy

By using high-frequency sound waves to stimulate soft tissues via heat or vibration, patients can experience a decrease in pain and jont stiffness, an increase in blood flow to the area, a release of some scar tissues, and it can initiate healing.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Graston is an instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization tool that helps in treating pain and injuries. Using this tool and a lotion (to prevent friction and painful scraping) helps break adhesions within muscles and scars, and it brings blood flow to the surface to stimulate the healing process.

The massage-gun is another useful tool that relaxes tight muscles and increases mobility.
